I’m gonna start going insane if I don’t start talking about the thoughts in my head. Based on my HUD, it’s been six days since I lost contact with my squad. Got caught up in a nasty firefight just north of my current position. Corpo forces had ambushed us as we tried to rendezvous with Wolverine Squad. Been runnin’ ever since. They were like fuckin’ ghosts. Usin’ that new active camouflage tech that they got. It was just like how grandpa described the war in ‘Nam. Except this was way worse. Can barely keep track of how fast quantum tech is progressing nowadays. It’s been a year since they dropped the bombs on Yellowstone. A fuckin’ years since they blew the world to shit. Can you believe that? Out east, we have their assess against the Mississippi, but the shit they’re pumpin’ out keeps them fighting over here. It defies all sense. You’d think that after Old America sold its soul to the corpos they’d give up on this whole war business. But that’s just what it is: business! The military-industrial complex has them eating out of their hands. And the longer they keep up this… I better stop mulling over it...Let’s take inventory…Battle rifle, chambered in 0.308, semi-armor piercing high explosive, six mags, thirteen shots each, pistol, 10 millimeter, 1 mag…three stims, two frag grenades…No more water…
Gonna try and make it to Salt Lake. Coalition forces are holed up there. Hopefully, the rest of my squad made it back. And hopefully, all this shit will be done by Christmas. I sure do miss the kids…wonder what I should get ‘em…
-END LOG-
-ADDENDUM: Shortly after this log was made, Lieutenant Rook would go on to fight during the Battle of Salt Lake City. Records indicate he was instrumental in driving back Incorporated American States troops in several major engagements, most likely owing to his background in the Old American Navy SEALs. To this day, Lieutenant Rook is still marked as Missing in Action.-
